Dear Church,
This Sunday is the 5th Sunday of the month and we plan to use it for time of Spiritual retreat and fellowship lunch. Last Sunday Greg led us to consider One Another Ministry the 70+ One Another commands and encouragements. As such what we plan this week is so important. Often from week to week we never get closer to each other than surface conversations. This Sunday we invite you to come at 9am and we will break into triplets to share our story with each other. Each will have 40-45min to share joys and sorrows, highs and lows of your life; and importantly how our story with God interacts with those events. Each of us then has the opportunity to hold space for one another. As we do so we learn to know, and to know is to love.
This is One Another Ministry in action: Bearing one another’s burdens Listening to one another Caring for one another Accept one another Gently patently tolerate one another Be kind and tender hearted to one another Seek the good for one another Be devoted to one another in love Speak truth to one another Encourage and build each other up and Pray for one another.
But this requires safe practice. Let me remind you of our Code of Honour. Every one of our groups operates by this: We will care for each other; be committed to the process; be respectful of each other including confidentiality, not interrupting or trying to fix each other; Honest and Safe (yes I know it says fun but if it’s not fun for all it’s not fun at all). So I invite you to be brave and blessed and come at 9am ready to listen and share in this safe place. Then at 12 we will enjoy lunch together.
