Dear Church, On Sunday 25th the Church held a meeting. At that meeting it was determined that a team of Elder’s could not be raised to continue the oversight and leadership that a church community needs. As a result the official entity of Hervey Bay Church of Christ will in due course complete its time of ministry. The property will be handed back to Churches of Christ in Queensland for them to manage but held in trust should a Hervey Bay Church of Christ ever start again as an official ministry. This will take some time and we will communicate what steps need to be taken and dates that things will happen over the coming months. As you know my paid position will end on January 17th.
There is a grief attached to this and I know many who have invested money and many hours of sweat, tears, prayer and love into this place. But, this does not mean the end of relationship, but will necessitate a different mode of ministry. While the organisational aspect of the church will cease, the organism of interconnected relationships under Christ can and hopefully will continue. The actual nature of this ministry is yet to be determined.
For the moment we continue to be a part of a bigger movement. We are again invited to contribute to “Hope in a Hamper”. [image: Capture.PNG]
Attached are sermon notes and slides from the past few weeks. This week we look forward to Romans 11. We will finish Romans in November so we can focus on the future and process our grief as the year closes.
Love in Christ,
